IHEC extend term of registering candidates for elections of Kurdistan Region PCs elections

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Independent High Electoral Commission decided to extend the period of registering the candidates of the political blocs for the Provincial Councils elections in Kurdistan Region for more ten days.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan received by IraqiNews.com quoted member of IHEC, Serwan Ahmed as saying “Today was the final day for registering the candidates for Kurdistan Region PCs elections and for several reasons, the period is extended by IHEC for more ten days.”

“The amendment of elections law of Kurdistan Region is among the reasons behind this extension,” he added.

“Wednesday, will witness official announcement for the extension,” he concluded.
