Kurdish MP accuses Kurdish opposition of hindering parliament, elections in Kurdistan Region

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mahdi Hachi, of the Kurdistani Democratic Party headed by the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, accused the Kurdish opposition of hindering the parliament performance and holding the elections in Kurdistan Region.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “The Kurdish opposition, including the Change bloc, are attempting to hindering the parliament performance and holding the elections in Kurdistan Region because they do not agree upon voting on the constitution called for by Barzani which resulted in amending it where the MPs of the Change bloc left the meeting and started to hinder the parliament performance.”

“Barzani will announce his stance over extending his term and I think that extending Barzani’s term and the term of the parliament is a necessity especially after the attempts of the Change bloc to neglect the constitution and holding the elections,” he added, noting that “The opposition did not agree upon nominating a candidate for the president post because they realize that no one can compete with Barzani.”

He expected “Settling the crisis, assuring that all the laws endorsed by the parliament will be ratified by Barzani where this issue can be discussed once again and achieving a settlement for it unless the Change bloc continue its stance that will result in the continuity of the crisis for several months,” he concluded.
