MP attributes lack in electricity sector to adoption of Gas Stations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Suzan al-Saad of the Energy and Oil Parliamentary Committee stated that “The power generating Stations which adopt Gas as main source of fuel used by the Ministry of Electricity for providing electricity power for citizens do not suit the Iraqi hot environment.”Saad reported in statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The Gas Stations, which the Ministry of Electricity insist to use, do not suit the desert environment of Iraq, where these Gas stations are being used in Europe as a backup stations for the nuclear and hydroelectric stations,” noting that ”The countries of the World do not depend on Gas stations as a basic station to generate electricity except Iraq.””The use of Gas Stations by the MoE is one of the reasons behind the deterioration in electricity sector and lack in providing electricity power in Iraq,” she added. \END\
