Douri calls Maliki, Interior, Defense Ministries to activate intelligence efforts to protect citizens

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Etab al-Douri of the parliament Hal bloc called on Tuesday the General Commander for Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki and the two Ministries of Defense and Interior to activate the intelligence efforts to protect the citizens from the repeated armed attacks.

Douri said “The absence of active intelligence is one of the main reason behind the repeated terrorist attacks and targeting of the civilians in different parts of Iraq, calling Maliki and the Acting Defense Minister, Sadoun al-Dulaimi as well as the Senior Interior Ministry Undersecretary, Adnan al-Asadi to activate and rehabilitate the intelligence department to protect the citizens lives from the wave of terrorist attacks in the majority of the Iraqi provinces.”

“The occurrence of the terrorist operations at the same time in several provinces demonstrates the lack of intelligence coordination among the security forces in these provinces and absence of competence in the security leaders,” she emphasized.
