KA refuses adopting Closed List in coming parliament elections

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Kurdistani Alliance refused adopting the closed list system in the next parliament elections and upheld adopting the single circle.

The spokesperson of the KA, Mu’ayed al-Taiyb stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “We announced through our representatives in the parliament legal committee that we are with the single circle and the open list system because we think there are figures who enjoy acceptability by all the Iraqis, so they can ascend the parliament.”

“It is better to leave the voters free to choose the reliable and competent figures who are able to meet their aspirations, he added noting “We could combat the sectarianism through the open list system.”
