Nijaifi calls to hold urgent session to discuss security situation in Diyala

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, called to hold an urgent parliament session to discuss the security situation in Diyala province.

A statement by Nijaifi’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Due to the violence and displacement against the citizens in Muqdadiya, Nijaifi met with the MPs of Diyala province where they assured that the security crisis in the province has dangerous consequences that might shift to the other provinces.”

“Nijaifi called to hold an urgent public session on Thursday to stop the terrorist and reduce the security breach,” the statement added, quoting Nijaifi as saying “Terrorism targets the political, security and the tribal situation in Diyala and we all have to cooperate to settle this crisis and sustain stability in the province.”
