(IraqiNews.com) Former Iranian President Assistant, Saeed Lu stressed that the economic side is one of the topics Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will discuss during his expected visit to Iraq on Thursday.

Ahmadinejad is scheduled to arrive to Baghdad today, for two-days visit to meet the Iraqi officials and visit the holy shrines.

The Iranian Faris News Agency quoted Lu as saying “The former President’s visit to Iraq includes discussing the economic situation as well as upgrading the bilateral relations, noting “The trade exchange between both countries rose during 2013 in light of the efforts exerted in this regard.”

Ahmadinejad Assistant pointed out “The trade exchange with Iraq is up to $ 13 billion and we’ll export 25 billion sq meters of gas to Iraq and will export 1300 mw of electricity to Iraq per year.”

“Many of the infrastructures activities are underway in Iraq where many Iranian companies are conducting projects and investments,” he added.
