Soon: Conf. on development alternatives in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation next month will hold a conference on development alternatives in the country and Iraq’s reliance on oil revenues. “The ministry will hold a national conference on March 25 and 26 in Baghdad to work out development alternatives due to the fluctuation in oil prices,” Minister of Planning and Development Cooperation Ali Baban told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Iraq still relies on oil as its only source of income…,” the minister said, highlighting the deteriorating economic conditions and economists’ expectations of a further fall in oil prices over the coming years.
