Japanese firms face fierce competition in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Japanese ambassador in Iraq on Thursday said that his country is facing tough competition from U.S. and European companies seeking to invest in Iraq. The remark was made during his meeting with a number of Iraqi editors-in-chief and media directors, including the editor-in-chief of IraqiNews.com news agency, in the capital Baghdad. “As of this week, Japanese companies have begun to arrive in Iraq to explore investment potentials in large oil and electricity projects,” the Japanese envoy said.
