Turkmen bloc calls Religious Authority to urge government provide security to Turkmen

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Turkmen bloc called the Religious Authority to urge the government to provide the security to the Turkmen Community in Tuz Khormatu district of northern Salah il-Din province.

The head of the bloc, Arshad al-Salihi, stated in a press conference on Saturday “Tuz Khormatu district became as ghosts city due to the contradiction in the security decisions,” noting that “The Turkmen are concerned over the threats that they receive,” calling the government to “Have a serious stance over the declined security situation in Tuz Khormatu district.”

He stressed the necessity of “Having a settlement between the Central Government and Kurdistan Region over the disputed areas and the security file in these areas,” calling the Religious Authority to “Urge the government to provide security to the Turkmen.”
