Urgent – Source: Maliki to drop all charges against Esawi

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) An Informed source revealed that the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, reconciliated with the resigned Minister of Finance and the leader within the Iraqiya Slate, Rafi al-Esawi.

The source stated to IraqiNews.com “A meeting was held between Maliki and Esawi’s representative in Baghdad where they agreed upon dropping all the judicial charges against Esawi.”

“Esawi sent his representative because he is afraid that Maliki may arrest him,” the source added.

“The reconciliation between the two sides is based on US desire to restore Esawi to the political scene,” the source concluded.

Earlier, Esawi resigned because a security force raided the headquarters of Finance Ministry and arrested a number of his guards for charges related to terrorism.
