Ghanimi reveals Abo Gharib escapees leading armed groups in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Commander of Middle Euphrates Operations Command, Lieutenant General Othman al-Ghanimi, reveled that leading figures belong to Qaeda organization who escaped from Abo Gharib prison are behind the terrorist operations in the north of Babel province.Ghanimi told the correspondent of IraqiNews.com ”There intelligence information assued that escapees from Abo Gharib prison are leading the armed groups within Qaeda terrorist organization, ” adding that, noting that ”Based on this information, we sent security forces to the terrorist shelters but the gunmen, unfortunately, managed to flee leaving their weapons which were confiscated by the security forces.””These terrorists are considered the most dangerous Qaeda members and they did not flee to Syria, they fled to lead armed groups in several areas of Iraq,” he explained.Taji and Abu Gharib prisons were attacked by unidentified gunmen among them Qaeda elements using IEDs, missiles and machineguns on 21/ July/2013 and they manage to free many prisoners, among them Qaeda terrorist leaders. \END\
