Maliki, Feltman discuss Syrian crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki hosted the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations for Political Affairs to Iraq , Mr. Jeffrey Feltman, at his office in Baghdad on Sunday.The Presidency of the Cabinet reported in statement received by IraqiNews.com that ”The meeting tackled various topics including the situation in Syria and Egypt, ” stressing that ”Maliki warned from supporting sectarianism and terrorism by some sides in the political scene.”The statement added ”The UN envoy visit’s was aim to get acquainted with the Iraqi point of view regarding recent events on Arab political scene,” pointing out ”Maliki assured that Iraq supports all the efforts exerted to find a political solution for the crisis in Syria in order to end the suffering of the Syrian people,””Feltman expressed the readiness of UN support to Iraq in hosting Syrian refugees, whose number reached about (160,000) persons so far,” the statement concluded. \END\
