Nijaifi, UN official discuss security situation, regional updates

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, discussed with the Deputy Secretary General of the UN for the Political Affairs, Jeffery Felman, the security situation in Iraq and the regional updates.

A statement by the parliament received by IraqiNews.com cited “Nijaifi received Fetlman at his office in Baghdad where they discussed some Iraqi issues.”

“The two sides stressed the necessity of having a real national conciliation to settle the political disputes,” the statement added.

“For his part, Nijaifi appreciated the UN’s role in Iraq and its advices to the Iraqi sides,” the statement pointed out, assuring that “The two sides have also discussed the political updates in Egypt and Syria.”
