Conf. in Sulaimaniya on setting up 3 power stations

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi electricity ministry held a conference in the Kurdish city of Sulaimaniya on Sunday to discuss details about setting up three 650-mw gas-operated power stations in Karbala, Hilla, and al-Taji. “Meetings were held during the conference with the companies undertaking the project to discuss implementation mechanisms,” Abdelrazaq abdelwahab al-Qaysi, the ministry’s electricity transfer projects department director, told IraqiNews.com news agency. He did not elaborate on the costs of the project. “Nine out of 44 power corporations were picked for the project,” he said. AmR (P)/SR 1
