IHEC sues Shahbander for launching false accusation for defamation

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Independent High Electoral Commission sued the member of the State of Law Coalition, Izzat al-Shahbander for launching accusations against the IHEC over corruption for defaming it.

The head of Media office within the IHEC, Aziz al-Khekani, stated to IraqiNews.com “The Commissioners Council within the IHEC decided to sue Shahbander for accusing the IHEC of being receiving bribes,” noting that “The IHEC is the basic democratic institution and has the mission of conducting the next elections in Kurdistan Region.”

“The judicial case against Shahbander involves calling for paying five billion IQD to the IHEC for defaming this institution,” he concluded.
