Ground water levels decline in Karbala
KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: The procedures adopted by the water resources department in Karbala have led to lower levels of ground water all over the province and greatly affected the agricultural sector there, according to a local official. “Ground water levels declined after al-Razaza pumping station had come into operation, which has positively affected the agricultural sector in the province,” a statement published on the official web site of the Iraqi cabinet quoted Awn Thiyab Abdullah as saying. In coordination with the Higher Committee on Agricultural Initiative, the Ministry of Water Resources has organized a visit by a media delegation to the station, the statement added.
