Maliki meets President of India

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, met the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, during his visit that will last for four days.

Iraqiya Satellite Channel stated “Maliki and the accompanied delegation met the President in addition to the Minister of Foreign Affairs to conclude several agreements between the two countries.”

Earlier, IraqiNews.com reported in an exclusive statement that during the visit, Maliki will call on President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari.

“He will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who will also host an official banquet in honour of the visiting Iraqi leader on August 23,” the statement continued.

“His other engagements would include meetings with the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, and External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid,” the statement concluded.
