Undersecretaries’ council discusses federal budget

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The undersecretaries’ council held its fourth session on Monday to discuss funding problems with regards to the 2009 federal budget of Iraq, said a release issued by the Iraqi cabinet. “The meeting highlighted a number of mechanisms and recommendations,” said the release that was received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “A suggestion was made during the meeting to form a crisis cell headed by Premier Nouri al-Maliki, with a limited number of ministers as members, along with a campaign to deal with financial and administrative corruption,” it added. “The meeting called on finding funding sources other than oil,” it noted.
