Hal bloc calls to grant local governments more authorities

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohammed al-Karbouli, of the Iraqiya Alliance called to grant more authorities to the local governments and handle the security file to them.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “Most of the local governments need to increase their budgets because the former governments spend them for the electoral propaganda which resulted in disturbing the strategic plans set by the new governments.”

“Anbar Provincial Council, when it was formed, realized that the current budget cannot be for the big projects,” he added.

“Granting authorities to the local governments without setting their laws is a big mistake where there should be observation by the Federal Government,” he pointed out, noting that “Expanding the authorities must be in the investment and the security fields only.”
