Iraq confirms adherence to Ghadban’s nomination for SG post of OPEC

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraq confirmed its adherence to nominating its candidate for the post of the Secretary General of OPEC.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Oil, Asim Jihad, stated to IraqiNews.com “Iraq is adherent to nominating its candidate, Thamir al-Ghadhban, for assuming the post of the Secretary General of OPEC.”

“Iraq is an establishing member within OPEC and hosted its first meeting in Baghdad in addition to its role as a major oil producing country,” he added.

“We are adherent to nominating Ghadhban for his great experience in this field and he is suitable person to assume this post,” he concluded.
