Political leaders issue statement after finishing their meeting

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The political leaders confirmed their support for the security forces in confronting terrorism and their adherence to unity of Iraq as well as calling to peaceful solution for the Syrian crisis.
A statement issued by the political leaders after their meeting at the headquarter of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, on last Monday night cited “Under the critical regional situation and the expected military attack against Syria, the three Presidencies and the leaders of the political leaders held a meeting to discuss the required measures to avoid the consequences of the Syrian crisis.”
The attendants of the meeting agreed upon the following points:
-Rejecting the expected military attack against Syria and supporting the peaceful solution.
-Adopting the Iraqi initiative concerning Syria and supporting it through the diplomatic and public efforts.
-Denouncing the use of the chemical weapons by any side and taking the measures to avoid their use in future.
-The necessity to double the efforts to reach a political solution for the Syrian crisis.
-They stress the importance of consolidating the national efforts to sustain unity and to solve the internal disputes through the dialogues among the political blocs.
-Working on reducing the tensions and confronting the sectarian agitating statements.
-All sides emphasize confronting terrorism and practices of the militias in addition to limiting the use of weapons to the State.
-All sides praised the officials’ national spirit that was prominent during the meeting.
