Tharib predicts Kurdistan Region elections results

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The rapporteur of the Parliamentary Regions Committee, Ziyad al-Tharib, stated that the elections of Kurdistan Region will result in changing the political map of the Kurdish parties, expressing his confidence over “The success of the Independent High Electoral Commission in holding the elections.”

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, he said “I expect the Kurdistani Democratic Party headed by the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, to top the other parties and get 37 seats, the Change bloc headed by Shirwan Mustafa to get 82 seats where the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan headed by the President, Jalal Talabani, to get 13 seats.”

“The other political blocs will have seats according to the quota to have 111 seats as the total number of the parliamentary seats of Kurdistan Region,” he concluded.
