3 persons arrested in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Three persons on Monday were arrested during a security campaign in southwestern Kirkuk province, according to a local police chief. “This afternoon, a police force launched a search raid in al-Taleea village, al-Rashad district (35 km southwest of Kirkuk city), during which three persons were arrested and four unlicensed rifles and a vehicle were confiscated,” Brig. Sarhad Qadir told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The raid was conducted after four civilians, including three personnel from the North Oil Company, were kidnapped by gunmen near al-Rashad district on Wednesday (Feb. 25),” Qadir added. Kirkuk, an oil-rich and mixed city of Kurds, Turkmen, Christians and Arabs, lies 250 km north of Baghdad. SS (P) 1
