12 al-Naqshabandiya group members arrested in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Police forces on Tuesday arrested 12 members of the so-called “al-Naqshabandiya group” in southern Kirkuk city, according to a security source. “A joint force from the Criminal Investigations Department, the Emergency Police and Kurdish security forces launched a search raid in al-Orouba neighborhood, southern Kirkuk, during which 12 members of the self-styled al-Naqshabandiya group were arrested,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. Al-Naqshabandiya is a group that introduces itself as an Islamic spiritual dogmatic organization, but its ideologies changed into ones of armed struggle against the occupation forces. Kirkuk, an oil-rich and mixed city of Kurds, Turkmen, Christians and Arabs, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P) 1
