Attempt to smuggle 61 antiques thwarted in Amara

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Policemen foiled an attempt to smuggle 61 pieces of antiquities southwest of Amara city, according to the relations & information director at the Missan police department. “The attempt was thwarted at al-Shaghbaniya village of al-Kheer district, (65 km) southwest of Amara,” Col. Sadeq Salam told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The smuggling gang members managed to escape after leaving the artifacts behind them,” he said.
