Foreign Minister participates in Arab Ministerial Meeting over Syria

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Arab League Foreign Ministers which is held annually on the sidelines of the General Assembly meetings.

A statement by the Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited “During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in Syria and the last Security Council debate on the use of chemical weapons, including the Russian-U.S. understanding on those weapons disarmament. They also touched on the developments related to Geneva 2 meeting.”

“The Ministers discussed situation in the occupied Palestine and the latest developments in the current negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians, stressing importance of the stopping settlement activities in the occupied Arab territories,” the statement continued.

“The Ministers also stressed the need to advocate decisions related to supporting the Palestinian issue that to be considered by the General Assembly at its current session,” the statement concluded.
