Barzani calls Kurdish political sides to accept result of Kurdistan Region elections

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, called the Kurdish political sides to accept the primary results of the elections of Kurdistan Region.

A statement by the Kurdistani Regional Government received by IraqiNews.com cited “While addressing the Kurdish people, Barzani called the political sides to hold the historical responsibility and accept the results of the elections of Kurdistan Region.”

The statement quoted him, as saying “It is necessary to accept the primary results of the elections and if there are any complains over the elections, they will be legally treated according to the rules of the Independent High Electoral Commission.”

He stressed the necessity of “Not adhering to the extorting means,” assuring the importance of adhering to the national interest and not to fire to express happiness over the elections.”

He also called “The security forces to take the suitable measures to deal with the illegal violations that might accompany the announcement of the results.”
