IHEC: KDP wins Kurdistan Region’s elections

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Independent High Electoral Commission IHEC announced the results of the Parliamentary elections in Kurdistan Region during a press conference held on Saturday.

The results showed that the Kurdistani Democratic Party headed by the President of the Region Masoud Barzani won the first place with 719,040 votes followed by the Taghyeer Movement headed by Nasherwan Mustafa with 464,095 votes while the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan headed by the President of Iraq Jalal Talabani came third with 323,867 votes then the Kurdistani Islamic Union with 178, 681 votes and the Islamic Gathering got 113,260 votes while the other slates for minorities and small parties won votes less than 100,000 votes.
