2nd helicopter shot down in Beiji district of northern Tikrit, Iraq

Salah-il-Din (IraqiNews.com) Gunmen succeeded in shooting down another Iraqi Army helicopter while it was providing support for the crew of the first helicopter which crashed earlier this morning in Beiji district of northern Tikrit.

Security sources reported to IraqiNews.com “A helicopter for the Iraqi Army was providing support for the Iraqi Army forces which came to the area to rescue the crew of the helicopter that fall down earlier by gunfire from the gunmen in the area,” noting that “The crew of the second helicopter survived the attack.”

The source added “Clashes erupted between Iraqi Army forces and the gunmen in Beiji district.”
