Iraqi football team beats Yemen in Beirut friendly match

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi National Football match won its friendly match against the Yemeni counterpart held in Beirut (3-2).

The envoy of the Iraqi Sports Press Union, Abdul Rahman Fleifel, stated to IraqiNews.com “The first half of the match ended (1-1) when the Iraqi team scored first through Amjad Radhi, but the Yemeni team equalized from a penalty kick at the last minute of the match.”

“The Iraqi team controlled the second half time to score twice through the defender Mustafa Nadhim and the forward Younis Mahmoud,” he added, noting that “The Yemeni team scored again before the end of the match.”

“The Iraqi team will play another friendly match next Tuesday against its Lebanese counterpart,” Fleifel said.

The Iraqi team prepares to face its Saudi counterpart in the Jordanian Capital, Amman, on October 15th, within the third round of the third group of the Asian Qualifications.
