Basra to import Iranian gas through pipelines

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Governor of Basra Majid al-Nasrawi confirmed on Tuesday concluding an agreement with the Iranian Sanam Company to establish a pipeline to import the necessary gas for operating the electricity generating stations.

Nasrawi mentioned during a press conference held with the Iranian Company in Basra province on Tuesday “This project will be finalized before next summer.”

The local government intends to establish a metro line in Basra province and a railway line to connect Basra with Iran, Governor Nasrawi added, noting that “The local government is determined to eliminate the housing crises in the province through contracting with specialized companies.”
