Mosul blast kills officer, soldier, wounds 3

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: An army officer and a soldier were killed and three servicemen were wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off near their patrol vehicle in western Mosul city, according to an army source. “This afternoon, an army lieutenant and a soldier were killed and three other soldiers were wounded when an explosive charge detonated near their patrol vehicle in Hawi al-Kanisa area, western Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The explosion caused damage to the patrolmen’s Hummer vehicle,” the source added.
