Awad confirms his insistence on investigating Minister of Electricity

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Uday Awad, member of Oil and Energy Parliamentary Committee denied reconsidering his call to investigate the Minister of Electricity, Abdul Kareem Aftan, by the parliament.

In a statement received by IraqiNews.com, he said “The call for investigating Aftan could be canceled in a phone call between me and him as mentioned by MP, Jawad al-Bazoni.”

“Bazoni’s statements are false,” he added, noting that “The Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, postponed the investigation till completing the judicial procedures against Aftan regarding his refusal to attend to the parliament for investigation.”
