Urgent – Maliki arrives in Basra to participate in inaugurating Basra Sport City

Basra (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, arrived in Basra on Saturday morning.

A source from the province stated to IraqiNews.com “Maliki arrived in Basra accompanied by a number of officials to inaugurate Basra Sport City,” noting that “Maliki will meet officials and chieftains in Basra.”

Ministry of Youth and Sport prepared a huge joyful program to celebrate the inauguration of Basra Sport City that was supposed to host Khaliji 22 at the end of next 2014 yet the heads of Gulf Sport Associations decided to deprive Basra from hosting the Championship and to hold it in Jeddah city in Saudi Arabia.
