Hostage released, kidnapper arrested in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi army forces released one hostage and arrested one of his kidnappers in a raid campaign in northern Mosul, an army source said on Monday. “The operation took place in al-Shorta neighborhood, northern Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The victim, who is 25 years old, was found in the basement of a furnishings shop in the area,” he said. The source did not mention further details, but noted that the shop’s owner was arrested, and is currently interrogated. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
