Maliki urges citizens to reduce using electricity power

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki devoted his weekly speech of this Wednesday to urge the citizens to reduce the consumption of electric power.

Maliki said “We will continue accomplishing the rest of the projects in the field of electricity power generation to avoid any lack in providing this necessary power,” urging the citizens to avoid “Using the electric power for cooking or heating and use other types of fuel provided by the government.”

Maliki also talked about the governmental expenditures saying that “The 2014 budget stated to limit expenditures and forbid buying vehicles or furniture for the governmental departments,” noting that “The 2014 is devoted to increase the funds for education, eliminating poverty and construction of roads and bridges, harbors, airports, schools and universities.”

“We also instructed to form a council for construction to supervise these projects instead of ministries,” according to Maliki.
