Jindiyani rules out replacing Talabani as Secretary General of PUK

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan ruled out replacing its Secretary General, Jalal Talabani, at the current time.

A statement by the PUK received by IraqiNews.com quoted its spokesperson, Azad Jindiyan, as saying “The PUK evaluates the situation and diagnoses the reasons behind the electoral failure,” noting that “A specialized Committee was formed for this issue.”

He considered Talabani’s absence as “Very affected the results of the elections where we admit that the affect was in the electoral propagandas, nominating our candidates and the voting process.”

“There are subjective, strategic and tactical reasons behind this failure, but will not continue till holding the Fourth Extended Conference of the PUK in the end of January,” he added,” ruling out “Nominating a replacement to Talabani to head the PUK because it violates the policy of the PUK and we consider him as our spiritual father, but there will be many changes within the leaders of the PUK.”
