Baldawi criticizes concerns of some INA blocs over nominating Maliki for third term

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mufeed al-Baldawi, of the State of Law Coalition criticized the concerns of some sides of the Iraqi National Alliance over nominating the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, for a third term.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, Baldawi said “Unfortunately, there are some political sides including some of INA, attacked Maliki due to their concerns over nominating him for a third term and we assure that the constitution did not prevent nominating the Prime Minister for the third term.”

“Maliki’s visit to the United States of America and his meeting with the US President and his Vice was fruitful due to the interest of the US side in this visit,” he added, noting that “Maliki referred to the Iraqi situation and the two sides agreed upon some points related to the security sector.”
