Talabani, SIIC chief mull political developments in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani on Friday discussed with Head of Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC), Abdulaziz al-Hakim, the latest political developments in Iraq. “The president said that the meeting focused also on the results of the recent provincial council elections,” said a presidential statement quoted by IraqiNews.com news agency. “For his part, al-Hakim valued the pivotal role played by the president in unifying efforts toward boosting democracy and agreement in Iraq,” the statement added.
