Khuzayi confirms Iraq’s desire to start new phase with Turkey

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Vice President, Khudair al-Khuzayi stressed that “Iraq is a rich country and wishes Turkey to be a key partner in the economic relations to make use of the Turkish leading experience.”

A statement by Khuzayi’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “The Vice President, Khuzayi received the Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmed Davutoglu where they discussed the bilateral relations between both countries.”

He confirmed “Iraq’s eagerness to build best relations with Turkey and open new page of ties as well as ignoring the disputes that inflicted the historical relations between both countries.”

For his part, the Turkish Foreign Minister expressed his “Gratefulness for the warm reception and hospitality shown by the Iraqi side,” stressing “Turkey emphasizes the necessity to set best relations with Iraq as this will be a strong message to the terrorist forces considering Iraq’s stability as part of the region’s stability.”
