Iraqi FM lauds Germany’s stance toward Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari on Tuesday lauded the visit paid by his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Iraq and the German’s role toward the country. Speaking at a press conference at the foreign ministry’s building with his German counterpart, Zebari said “the Iraqi market is open for German companies to provide Iraqi citizens with services.” “German’s support to Iraqi is very important,” he added, calling for facilitating the economic transactions between the two sides and strengthening relations between Iraqi and German universities and institutes. Steinmeier had arrived in Baghdad earlier in the day. The top German diplomat will leave Baghdad for the Kurdish region’s capital Arbil on Wednesday to inaugurate the German consulate there. Steinmeier’s visit to Iraq is the first by a top German official since 2003 SH (P)/SR 1
