Shalah underestimates importance of Barzani’s visit to Turkey in developing relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ali al-Shalah, of the State of Law Coalition underestimated the importance of the visit of the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, to Turkey in developing the mutual relations.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “We do not to be pessimistic over this visit, but it will not develop the Kurdish-Turkish relations.”

“The Kurdish officials in Kurdistan Region have relations with the Turkish officials who can never pay attention to the interests of the Kurds in Turkey who represents the biggest community in Turkey and much more than the Iraqi Kurds,” he added.

“We do think that this visit will not develop the relations, but it will tackle some regional issues related to the Kurds in Syria,” he pointed out, assuring that “Iraq is clear in its policy and it identified it to Turkey where it is not concerned over the improvement of the Kurdish-Turkish relations, but Turkey has problem with the Kurds and the Kurds understand the Kurdish stance towards them.”
