Rafsanjani to visit Baghdad, Kurdistan next week – amb.

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Ambassador to Iran, Mohamedd Majeed al-Sheikh, said on Monday that Head of the Expediency Discernment Council, Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, may visit Iraq next week in response to an invitation from Iraqi President Jalal Talabani. “Rafsanjani will visit Iraq next week to discuss joint political and economic files,” al-Sheikh told IraqiNews.com news agency, noting that Rafsanjani will visit Kurdistan to discuss bilateral relations. “The visit came in response to an invitation from President Jalal Talabani, who will visit Tehran leading a high-profile delegation to review with the Iranian side political and economic ties,” he added. He expressed hope that Talabani’s visit would contribute in boosting bilateral relations between the two countries in the various domains. SH (P)/SR 1
