Defense minister meets German parliament official

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi minister of defense on Wednesday received in his Baghdad-based office a senior official from the German parliament to discuss recent security developments in the country, according to a ministerial statement. “Minister Abdelqadir Mohammed Jassem received a German MP, who is also a security and defense official in the parliament…,” read the statement that was received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The meeting tackled means of boosting cooperation in all fields, the statement noted. The German official said that she was impressed with the recent security improvements in Iraq and expressed her admiration for Iraqis’ ability to overcome hardships, the statement added. SS (P)/SR 1
