Iraq, Armenia sign several Memorandums of Understanding

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraq and Armenia signed several Memorandums of Understanding.

A statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry received by IraqiNews.com cited “Zebari, discussed with Edward Nalbandian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and his assistants ways to develop relations between Iraq and Armenia where the two sides reviewed the steps taken by them in the ways of building solid relations between the two countries. They also discussed a number of steps to accelerate the pace of bilateral relations in the fields of transport, travel, tourism and investment.”

“Zebari signed with his Armenian counterpart a memorandum of understanding to regulate the process of political and diplomatic consultation between the two countries and the two sides stressed their keenness to work together to facilitate the procedures of movement and travel for citizens of both countries and moving flights and encourage businessmen and investors to take advantage of the available opportunities,” the statement added, noting that “The two sides held after the talks a press conference at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia during which they reviewed the results of the talks between the two delegations.”

“Later on the Iraqi delegation met Mr. Armin Kevorkian Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Joint Committee and reviewed the decisions of the last meeting of the committee headed by Dr. Rose Nuri Shawiz Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Economic Committee and they confirmed to approve the agreements signed in accordance with the constitutional contexts and the work on connecting the railway network with Iran and Armenia to reach the markets inCaucasus and Central Asia and moving flights and facilitate the movement of citizens,” the statement concluded.
