Maliki went to Iran after failing to get US support for 3rd term – Kurdish MP

Kurdish MP: Maliki heads to Iran after failing in getting US support for third PM post of IraqBaghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hameed Bafi, of the Kurdistani Alliance stated that the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and the other officials in the current government do not have a chance for getting posts in the next government due to their failure in running the security and service files in the province.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, he said “Personally, I think that the government failed in providing the services and sustaining security in Iraq and there is no chance to Maliki to get a third term as the Prime Minister of Iraq.”

“Through the sympathy of the Iraqi people to Iran during the current time and due to the sanctions that it faces from the international community, but the Iraqis want the decision to be theirs and not made by foreign sides,” he added, noting that “Maliki headed to Iran to get its support for the nomination of the third PM post and after his failure in convincing the USA for its support for the same issue.”
