Rafsanjani in Najaf to meet Shiite leader

NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: The chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council, Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, on Thursday arrived in Najaf city and is expected to meet with top Shiite Cleric Ali al-Sistani, according to a local official. “Rafsanjani was received by Governor Asaad Sultan Abu Kalal and a number of provincial officials,” Shawqi al-Murabi told IraqiNews.com news agency.
