Tribesmen succeeded in preventing rifts- PM

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Saturday said that the national reconciliation sought by tribesmen has foiled all attempts to undermine national unity. “National reconciliation has played a major role in restoring stability…,” Maliki said in a speech at a chieftains’ conference in Baghdad. Maliki added that the participation of tribal leaders in the conference is a proof of the success of national reconciliation efforts. SS (P) 1
