Qatari official in Sulaimaniya

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: Qatari Minister of State Mohammed bin Khalid Al Thani arrived in the Kurdish city of Sulaimaniya on Sunday to meet with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and hand him an official invitation from the Emir of Qatar to attend the Doha Arab summit, according to a media source close to the Iraqi presidency. “The Qatari minister arrived at Sulaimaniya Airport today (March 9) and was received by Vice President of the Iraqi Kurdistan region, Emad Ahmed, Dana Ahmed Majid, the governor of Sulaimaniya, and a host of senior officials,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The Arab summit is scheduled to be held in the Qatari capital on March 29-30. The Arab summit is being held annually in one of the Arab capital cities in alphabetical order in March every year. The president had arrived on Thursday (March 5) in Sulaimaniya, coming from Baghdad, to preside over his Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) politburo meeting. AmR (P)/SR 1
